Pito & Mita

The stretch of Aguirre Avenue in BF Homes, Parañaque houses some of the best, yet undiscovered gems of the South when it comes to dining experience. Today, our Delicious Down South adventure brought us to Pito & Mita, a cozy Mediterranean-inspired restaurant along Aguirre Ave. for late lunch. From the menu (and fliers) of the restaurant reads this very fitting description for the place:

“Pito & Mita is what our children, nephews, and nieces endearingly call our parents. Short for Papito & Mamita, these are the names that bring to mind thoughts of warmth, family and hearty meals.
This place where friends gather is a product of Pito & Mita’s love for good food and great company. We warmly welcome you and invite you to enjoy the dishes that we have always looked forward to at Pito & Mita’s house and the hospitality their home is known for.”
From the outside, Pito & Mita already sends an unassuming homey atmosphere. Inside the restaurant, we could feel the Christmas ambiance and a sense of proximity to our own homes.

We were served with a plate of peanuts while waiting for our orders. For our pasta dish, we had the 3-Sausage Pasta. It is a fettuccine dish with (obviously) three kinds of sausages cooked in olive oil and cream. There is also an option to have the spicy variety, but this time, we chose to forego the chili.

Suni: I'm not really a fan of white sauce-based pasta dishes but I guess there's always an exception.  I must say, this 3-Sausage Pasta is one of the best I've tasted. The creaminess of the sauce together with the perfectly cooked Fettuccine and three kinds of sausages will definitely suit anyone's taste. Plus, it's not 'nakaka-umay' because every kind of sausage has its own distinct taste. For this dish, I will give a rating of 4 spoons.

Our choice of seafood dish was the Parmesan-Crusted Baked Fish, which is a fillet of baked dory fish wrapped in a crispy layer of Parmesan cheese with Potato Gratin on the side. This entreé is considered their bestseller. Other choices of sidings include Buttered Vegetables and Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

Oshin: The Parmesan-Crusted Baked Fish isn't one of Pito & Mita's bestsellers for nothing. The fish fillet is so tender, it could melt in your mouth. It's rich Parmesan crusting is a mix of creamy and crunchy. I'm a self-confessed cheese lover so I'd give a rating of 4.5 spoons for this delicious dish.

We also ordered Garlic Chicken, the tender chicken thigh fillet marinated in a garlic-based sauce, served with corn, carrots, and beans. Each order also comes with our choice of siding. For this dish, we had the Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

Rizzi: Pito & Mita's oven-baked Garlic Chicken is a safe choice for any dining group because everyone loves chicken. The boneless thighs are tender and seasoned moderately. This was not among the best chicken dishes I've tried but there's nothing bad I can say about it as well. Having said that, I'll give this dish 3 spoons.

Our dining experience at Pito & Mita was a delightful one. The quaint ambiance was partnered with soothing music as background and cheerful and cordial servers. For first timers in their restaurant, you will be asked to answer their survey and give your contact details so they can send you news and updates. We'd surely return to this place and bring our friends and families along for an intimate dining experience.
